How does lidar help move robots?

Due to the rise of laser radar, the cost of handling robots in 2018 has dropped significantly. As laser radar technology matures, it becomes more attractive in terms of price and performance.

Pulsed lidar works differently than triangulation and phase ranging techniques. It is a high frequency pulsed laser that is emitted by a laser emitter in 20 nanoseconds. Its light intensity is 1000 times that of sunlight. Therefore, it can be used outdoors, while receiving the use of light explosion detection to filter out other clutter. Pulsed laser radar can withstand 15,000 lux of light interference, so it can also be used outdoors. Because it emits high-frequency lasers, the detection of black objects (10% reflectivity) can reach 8-15 meters, which is not possible with other types of laser radar.
